Kum Nye, Relaxation and Meditation
Exploring Tibetan Yoga
Fri 3rd May through to Sunday 5th May. In St Annes, nr Blackpool, Lancashire.
Space of Joy
“When the joy arises let the yogin dance with full attention... for the liberation of all beings.” (Hevajra Tantra)
On this weekend we will explore Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga, Relaxation and Meditation exercises including working with the body, breath and mind in a variety of ways.
Kum Nye is essentially meditation interspersed with movement exercises. When we move, we move the sensation(s) that we habitually (and conceptually) call the body - our ‘Kum’. We then relax into, and expand, these feelings and sensations - ‘Nye’ means to stimulate and open.
The workshop weekend will begin on Friday with arrivals from around 3.30pm and will continue to Sunday lunchtime.
This is a non-residential course: you will be responsible for booking your own accommodation (a website link can be sent if you wish).
The workshop venue is the Richmond House Holistic Rooms, close to the centre and shops and close to the beach.
St Annes itself is just three miles from the bright lights of Blackpool, but is worlds apart in both character and atmosphere. The seaside town is nestled along a picturesque stretch of coastline, with parks and a boating lake. St Annes boasts a beautifully restored Victorian Pier, promenade with views across to North Wales, award winning beach huts a wide open sandy beach, plenty of places to eat and stay and wonderful seaside charm. Of course you could extend your stay after the workshop to enjoy the bank Holiday.
Timetable will be: 4pm to 6pm on Friday, 10am-1pm then 2.30 to 6pm on Saturday and 10am-1.30pm on the Sunday. There’s a kitchen available and a room for our break times. The cost for the workshop is £100.
A shared meal in a local restaurant might be arranged for the Friday evening if you wish.
This practice weekend is limited to 8 people
